about me

I am currently a senior finishing my last semester as an undergraduate student in the Design, Housing, and Merchandising major of Oklahoma State University, with a focus on interior design. I will graduate May of 2017 and am excited to say that I will be looking for a full-time position as an interior designer in Oklahoma City, OK and surrounding areas!

I have completed a couple different internships during my summers as a student, with one being a hospitality-focused firm, waldrop+nichols studio, llc. in Dallas, TX, and the other a corporate-focused design with an emphasis on facility management, Southwest Airlines in Dallas, TX. Both experiences have heightened my ability in many different software programs such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Bluebeam. I also was exposed to FF&E selections, meeting with clients, and networking with multiple other designers and vendors. I have come away from my internships with more confidence as a designer, as well as better communication skills, and an ability to really design for the client in an empathic way to truly capture the needs and wants he or she has.

With the CIDA accredited program at Oklahoma State University, I have gotten plenty of experience with various programs including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit. I have had the privilege of working with professors who are highly skilled in specific parts of the design process, such as lighting and environmental design, aging in place and designing for those with disabilities, and construction documents and drawings. I have full confidence that the skills I have learned while attending OSU will help me excel in any interior design firm.

The biggest drive I have for becoming an interior designer is to help make public and private spaces easily accessible for any individual, no matter his or her abilities. I am so passionate about the impact that interior design has on people all over the world, and I really strive to create spaces that anyone and everyone can enjoy.
